I am often asked how do you make money on the interent and in todays blog we explore three of the more common models. There are plenty of others but when you first start out these 3 are probably the ones to get to grips with first.
Online Money Making Model 1 - Adwords
Adwords ads are the sponsored listings you see at the top of the page and to the right of the page when you do a Google Search. Effectively you generate your own ads and drive traffic to your own site, a landing page or a merchants site. Which of the three depends on what you are trying to achieve e.g. list building or product sales and how much control you want over the traffic.
To run effective and profitable adwords campaigns is not as easy as it once was and to avoid losing your shirt you need to get a proper education. You should be able to track down recommended guides via internet marketing forums which are a great source of information.
The basic premise behind an adwords campaign is that you put up ad and visitors click on the link and buy the product being recommened. You then get paid. Sounds simple but Adwords campaigns are not free and can be expensive if you don’t know how to set them up properly and test them properly.
In addition to the dominant Google Adwords you shouldn’t ignore Yahoo and Microsoft’s equivalent offerings.
In my opinion the best current guide to succeeding with Adwords is Beating Adwords closely followed by Google Cash.
Online Money Making Model 2 - Adsense
Again a Google offering and an excellent one at that. Here you put up you own website - this can be as little as a single page and add adsense code to it. Adsense displays Adwords ads that match the content of your site contextually e.g. your site is about auto insurance and the ads displayed should be for auto insurance if you have done your job correctly. Visitors to your site then click on these ads and you receive a percentage of the click cost courtesy of Google. There are plenty of people out there earning a six figure annual income using this strategy alone.
The best guide I have found to making money through Adsense is available via Profit Lance. In it you will learn the exact strategy the author uses to generate more than $200,000 per annum in adsense revenues. What’s more the strategy still works and it is straightforward to apply.
Online Money Making Model 3 - Cost Per Action (CPA)
This is a very interesting model. A Cost Per Action (CPA) program is an online advertising pricing model, where the advertiser pays for each specified action (a purchase, a form submission, and so on) linked to the advertisement.
In other words you set up an pay per click campaign to drive traffic to a merchants website where a form submission earns you a commission whether or not anything is purchased. Provided you get more completed actions than your pay per click costs you make a profit. I have come across one internet marketer who clears more than $100,000 per month using this technique.
Google are currently trialling this model themselves and the trend looks set to grow in the future. Again, this is my personal my opinion but the only course worth buying in this area is the Pay Per Click Formula
